Holley float adjustment with sight glass

Sep 08, 2007 · No sight glass on mine which is some of why im stumped. I know when I have reached my limit, and when to ask for help. Im there. No carb expert, but wrenched enough growing up that I know how they work and with a little guidance can fix it. What is the secret to adjusting float on these carbs when you dont have a sight glass. This is a 750 cfm 4150 4 barrel with mechanical secondary and center hung float. When I run at 3000 - 4000 rpms, I can watch through the front bowl sight glass and the mixture starts to foam up until it runs out the vent. The float does not appear to move. I have a demon carb same as a holley uses the same parts at least and after about 4 days of sitting the bowls are about half empty , im leaning towards it evaporating out the float bowl vent tube . Go up to the float level adjustment and lower the float a bunch. Then start the engine and slowly raise the float a little, waiting for the level to settle, then raise it a little more until the level is where it needs to be.

May 17, 2020 · I'm rebuilding a Holley 4010 series 4 barrel carb for a buddy. The carb is on a Ski Nautique 350 Ford Boss Pro Version. The kit says to set the float so the fuel is just at the bottom of the sight glass but there are no sight glasses. I've looked everywhere. I'm in PA, hoping everyone is staying safe.

This shot shows the float bowl with the sight plug removed. The fuel level inside the float bowl is at its proper level right below the sight glass port. This should be checked on the vehicle.
